The Talk

This talk will track how the Scicloj community happened from its early days until now, through interviews with community members and analysis. We argue that building a data science ecosystem is (also) a social problem and we discuss why the social aspect is so important here. And we will explore what it means to grow a human community, and be part of a human community, in these uncertain & troubled times of 2020.

Furthermore, we will discuss how this moment is actually a phase transition, which is quite exciting, and might be an opportunity for Clojure to meet new and wide audiences. The Clojure data science story can be useful and interesting not only to data scientists but to any person who has some data to explore.
